My Bio
Hello lovelies! I am Kat, a self-proclaimed artist. I have been drawing since I learned to hold crayons. As an artist I mainly do traditional art and excel in painting (both acrylic and oil) and printing making (mostly intaglio). Recently I have been experimenting with digital art and have come to love it! I am currently working on my Bachelors of Fine Arts at Flagler College (just one more year) and mostly work with an illustrative style but I am experienced with realism and other styles too. I love to work with themes such as fears, mortality, monsters, and the dark and somewhat creepy. Hope you enjoy!

I have just discovered your gallery, and I love it! Few of us are able to remember the childlike acceptance of the creepy or alien, let alone have the skill to render it in easily-understood terms. Your work does so with aplomb, and you should be proud of it! It puts my right back to when I was a toddler, watching the strange shapes wrought by my hearth-coals in the night, or encountering some strange new bug in the forest. Back then, everything was a little spooky, but a little fascinating as well - like your imagery.
In addition to that, you clearly have a good understanding of your chosen media (I love how you incorporate the natural wood background into your oil paintings!), and I must admit I'm a little envious of your skill. It inspires me to put in a little more study. ^_^

It's how I discovered you, after all. Thank you very much for your praise of my work, I am deeply inspired by my childhood. I loved to imagine monsters in dark corners and read creepy scary stories. In my childhood mind there was a world of monsters just out of sight that we glimpse out of the corner of our eye, and it inspired many imagined tales and my art. I wasn't very good with depicting imagery at first, it took a lot of practice, determination, complete failure, critisism, and whole ton of student loans worth of college to get there, but it gets better with each piece I make, so never give up if you love making work, I almost did a few times.
Also thank you for helping me get into more groups and submitting my work, it always makes me feel accomplished when other people recommend my work to groups. Now I just need to get back to creating more work, haha, but thank you for your lovely comment.
